LILI POWELL
Lili Powell first learned about and began practicing yoga in 2001 when taking a mindfulness-based stress reduction class offered through U.Va. Health Systems’ Mindfulness Center. In 2006, she completed the 200-hour Yoga Source Teacher Training Program, which emphasized both Iyengar and Ashtanga methods. As a professor at U.Va.’s Darden School of Business, she has enjoyed integrating mindfulness, yoga, and theater techniques in classes aimed at helping students to communicate authentically and creatively as leaders. Her Ph.D. is from Northwestern University in communication studies, with concentrations in rhetoric, performance studies, and leadership.
Practicing and teaching yoga has become for Lili a central means to living a purposeful, intentional, joyful, and fulfilling life. She welcomes students to experience with her the rewards of connecting mind, body, and spirit through yoga. |
