CHRIS FRIEDMAN
Recognized in 2004 as one of Charlottesville's twenty most influential
people for her contribution in the field of Mind/Body fitness, Chris
Friedman is a Black Belt Nia Instructor and an Alexander Technique
teacher, as well as the founder and director of Studio 206. Chris's
passion for working in wellness and movement grew naturally from her
own recovery from anorexia and depression.
Her study of anatomy, fitness, personal growth and movement bring
an expertise to Chris's classes rare in most fitness settings. The
first certified Nia instructor in Virginia, Chris has been teaching
Nia locally for more than a decade. She is a supporter of raising
awareness locally of eating disorders and their dangers. Chris says,
"I am passionate about everything that I do and my work is central
to my life. I am also passionate about my three beautiful children,
my husband Dan of 33 years, our dog Otis, speaking French, French
cooking, dancing, and any book I read or movie I see." Chris
holds an MA in English Literature.
Above all, Chris values her work as an educator. She approaches teaching
with poise and preparedness. She hopes to see you in Nia, Stretch/Yoga,
or an Alexander technique lesson at Studio 206 soon. |
