In
1998, Studio 206 opened with a mission: to educate
the public in a new understanding of fitness. Charlottesville's
first mind-body fitness center, Studio 206 was founded
by Chris Friedman, a Black Belt Nia instructor and
Alexander Technique teacher. The studio's sprung
maple floor, high ceiling, and natural light create
a beautiful setting for Nia, yoga, and other mind-body
practices. The atmosphere is personal and welcoming.
Located in downtown Charlottesville, Studio 206
offers Nia, yoga for adults and children, Pilates,
and dance classes seven days a week at a wide variety
of times. Workshops and master classes are scheduled
regularly with resident teachers and visiting teacher/trainers.
Individual sessions in Alexander Technique, massage,
Reiki, Shiatsu, and private Nia and Yoga are available
by appointment.
Studio 206 has a staff of well-trained and gifted
teachers and practitioners, they are all dedicated
to helping you create health and well-being for
today as well as for the future.
Our
truth resides in our bodies. May this be a space
where there is support and compassion for our unique
journeys in becoming more fully who we are.
